Israel Adesanya's career may come down to one more fight. Multiple sources report the former UFC middleweight champion is targeted to face Shara "Bullet" Magomedov in the main event of UFC Saudi Arabia on December 5 in Riyadh.

Adesanya has lost four straight fights, all to top-level opposition. His most recent appearance was a March 2026 loss to Joe Pyfer in Seattle, a fight Adesanya was winning before he elected to stand and trade in the later rounds. The losses have stacked up against champions and ranked contenders, and per MMA Mania, this could be the Last Stylebender's final Octagon appearance.

Magomedov has been calling for this fight. The Dagestani striker is 6-1 in the UFC, with his lone loss coming via unanimous decision to Michael "Venom" Page. Since that setback, Magomedov has bounced back with wins over Marc-Andre Barriault and Michel Pereira, reestablishing himself as one of the more dangerous finishers in the middleweight division.

The matchup makes sense on every level. Adesanya still carries the biggest name at 185 pounds, and Saudi Arabia events demand star power. Magomedov gets the marquee opponent he has been chasing, and the UFC gets a striker-versus-striker main event built for highlights. Neither man is known for wrestling his way to decisions.

No other bouts have been announced for the card. The promotion returns to Riyadh less than two years after Adesanya last fought there, headlining against Nassourdine Imavov in February 2025.

REY'S TAKERey Aguirre

I'll be honest, this fight hurts a little. Izzy on a four-fight skid heading to Saudi Arabia against a guy who just got pieced up by MVP not that long ago? On paper it looks like the UFC is feeding one fading legend to a highlight reel waiting to happen.

But I'm not counting Adesanya out. That Pyfer loss happened because Izzy chose violence when he didn't need to. The skills haven't evaporated. They're buried under bad decisions and a champion's pride that won't let him fight safe. Shara Bullet is dangerous, no question. That double spinning backfist knockout was one of the wildest things I've ever seen in the Octagon. But he's been exposed in longer fights and on the ground.

If Adesanya shows up with a game plan instead of an ego, he can still outclass most middleweights on the feet. If this is the last ride, Riyadh isn't a bad place for it. Win or lose, Stylebender changed the game. I just hope he goes out swinging on his own terms.
