Adrian Yanez Hospitalized and Pulled From UFC 334 at Madison Square Garden
Adrian Yanez confirmed from a hospital bed that he is out of his UFC 334 bout with Juan Diaz at Madison Square Garden on November 14.

Adrian Yanez will not be fighting at UFC 334. The bantamweight confirmed his withdrawal from the November 14 card at Madison Square Garden by posting from a hospital bed, though he did not disclose the medical issue that sidelined him.
Yanez was scheduled to face Juan Diaz on the prelims of the Ciryl Gane vs. Josh Hokit headlined event in what many expected to be one of the more exciting matchups on the card. The withdrawal surfaced Saturday, and Yanez addressed it Monday on Instagram.
"I really wanted to fight at MSG," Yanez wrote. "I'll be back soon tho, Lord willing." He added, "Starting off the week strong. Humor is my way of coping," per MMA Sucka.
The UFC has not announced whether Diaz will remain on the card with a replacement opponent. Yanez's exit marks the latest withdrawal from a UFC 334 card that has already lost Nazim Sadykhov, Jefferson Nascimento, and Baisangur Susurkaev to various issues, according to SI. Cesar Almeida was signed to replace Susurkaev against Donte Johnson.
Yanez, 32, earned his UFC contract with a 39 second knockout on Dana White's Contender Series in 2020. He started 5-0 in the promotion and has gone through ups and downs since, but returned strong with a stoppage of Cody Garbrandt at UFC 329. The Texas native did not provide a timeline for his return.
This one stinks for Yanez. Fighting at Madison Square Garden is a bucket list thing for any combat sports athlete, and having it ripped away by a hospital visit he won't even talk about tells you it's serious enough that he doesn't want to get into it publicly.
I hope the kid is all right. He's one of the more entertaining bantamweights on the roster when he's healthy and confident, and that Garbrandt finish showed he still has pop. The UFC 334 card can absorb the loss since the top of the card is stacked, but the prelims keep getting thinner with all these withdrawals. MSG deserves a full lineup.
