Aieza Bertolso Earns UFC Contract With First-Round Submission on DWCS
The undefeated Brazilian strawweight needed just three minutes to choke out Camila Reynoso and land a UFC deal.
Aieza Bertolso made her case in a hurry. The undefeated Brazilian strawweight submitted Camila Reynoso with an inverted D'Arce choke at 3:02 of the first round on Dana White's Contender Series 94, earning a UFC contract on Tuesday night at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, per LowKick MMA.
Bertolso wasted no time on the feet. After a brief striking exchange, she took Reynoso down and immediately went to work. She threaded her arms around the Argentine's head, adjusted her position, and wrapped her legs around Reynoso to tighten the hold. The tap came midway through the opening round.
White praised Bertolso's performance and called her a strong addition to the UFC's 115-pound division. She was one of four fighters to receive contracts from the shortened DWCS 94 card.
Bertolso enters the UFC with an 8-0 professional record and a submission game that keeps getting sharper. Five of her eight wins have come by tap, and her finishing arsenal is diverse: rear-naked chokes, kneebars, armbars, and now the D'Arce. She won the LFA strawweight championship in September 2025 by armbarring Edilania Silva, establishing herself as one of the top regional prospects in the division.
The UFC's strawweight division has been one of the most competitive weight classes in the promotion for years, led by champion Zhang Weili. Adding a submission specialist with Bertolso's finishing rate gives the 115-pound roster another dangerous grappler to keep an eye on.
I love watching the Contender Series when someone comes in and just handles business. No feeling-out period, no waiting for the second round. Bertolso walked in there, took the fight to the ground, and strangled her opponent in three minutes flat. That is how you make a statement.
An inverted D'Arce choke is not a move you see every day. The fact that she has five submission wins by five different methods at 8-0 tells you this is a legitimate grappler with a deep bag. The UFC strawweight division is stacked, and she is going to need that variety to hang with the top 15, but the talent is clearly there.
Keep this name on your radar. The 115-pound division always needs fresh blood, and a finisher who can end fights from anywhere on the ground is the kind of fighter who makes exciting matchups from day one.
