Fundora Camp Demands 50-50 Split From Boots Ennis for Undisputed Fight
Sebastian Fundora's promoter says it's a 50-50 deal or nothing in undisputed junior middleweight talks with Jaron Ennis.

Negotiations for an undisputed junior middleweight title fight between Sebastian Fundora and Jaron "Boots" Ennis haven't even started yet, and they're already at an impasse.
Fundora's promoter Sampson Lewkowicz told Sean Zittel that any deal with the Ennis camp would need to be an even split. "It'll be 50-50 or nothing," Lewkowicz said, per Boxing News 24. He acknowledged the road ahead would be bumpy: "It will not be an easy negotiation."
The demand is a bold opening move. Ennis is the unified champion and holds the larger share of the belts at 154 pounds. He sells out arenas and is widely viewed as the A-side of this matchup. His promoter Eddie Hearn has little incentive to agree to equal terms.
Fundora, who holds the WBC belt, struck a more measured tone than his promoter. "Of course, there's going to be some sacrifices from both sides, but we're going to get it done," Fundora said. "Sampson will do it for me."
All of this hinges on Fundora getting past Ermal Hadribeaj this weekend first. If he does, the undisputed conversation becomes real, and both camps will have to decide what matters more: the money or the legacy fight.
Sampson Lewkowicz knows exactly what he's doing here. You come in demanding 50-50, you set the floor for negotiations. If you start at 40-60, you end up at 30-70. It's smart business.
But let's be honest: Boots Ennis is the A-side. He's the guy filling arenas and carrying the division. Fundora is tall, dangerous, and holds a belt, but he's not the bigger draw. Asking for equal money when you're not the equal draw is how fights don't get made.
I hope Fundora's side shows some flexibility once the cameras are off, because this is a fight fans deserve. If it falls apart over a purse split, boxing loses again. Fundora said the right thing. Sacrifices from both sides. Let's see if his promoter got the memo.
