Ryan Gandra Makes It Three Straight First-Round KOs and Calls Out Adesanya
Gandra blasted through Ozzy Diaz in 124 seconds at UFC 331, then grabbed the mic and told Israel Adesanya not to run.

Ryan Gandra is building one of the scariest highlight reels in the middleweight division. The Brazilian stopped Ozzy Diaz by first-round knockout at 2:04 of their bout at UFC 331 on Saturday night inside Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, per MiddleEasy and Cageside Press.
Gandra controlled the center of the Octagon early, using feints and low kicks while taking a patient approach. Diaz managed only a short elbow as his lone significant offensive moment before Gandra detonated. A high-volume striking combination drove Diaz to the fence, a right hand dropped him, and Gandra finished with ground-and-pound as referee Jonathan Romero waved it off.
"We are aggressive when needed, but we are the kings of patience," Gandra said after the fight. "It is all about timing."
The win marks Gandra's third consecutive first-round stoppage since joining the UFC. His combined Octagon time across three fights sits under four minutes. His overall record improves to 11-1 with six knockouts and two submissions in his nine-fight winning streak.
Gandra then used his post-fight moment to aim high. "Israel Adesanya, don't run from me," he said. "I am here. One time or another, we are going to beat each other."
For Diaz, the loss stings extra. The Los Angeles native was fighting at his home arena in front of a supportive crowd, per Cageside Press, but could not find an answer for Gandra's timing and power. The defeat deepens concerns about Diaz's future with the promotion after consecutive setbacks.
Three first-round knockouts, under four minutes of total cage time, and now he is calling out Israel Adesanya. Ryan Gandra is not being shy, and honestly, why should he be. The way he took apart Ozzy Diaz was not wild. It was patient. Feints, low kicks, wait, then the combination to the fence and the right hand. Kings of patience is a great line and the tape backs it up.
The Adesanya call-out is a reach in ranking terms, but it is smart. Izzy is the biggest name at 185 without a belt, and a Brazilian knockout artist telling him not to run is the kind of thing that gets a fight booked faster than a polite request for a top-15 opponent.
My gripe is for Diaz. Fighting at home in LA, two losses in a row, and no answer for the timing. He is likely done with the promotion. For Gandra, give him a ranked name next. If he does that again, the Adesanya talk stops being a reach.
