UFC Champ Mackenzie Dern Eyes WWE Career and Ronda Rousey Exhibition
Strawweight champion Mackenzie Dern says she is open to WWE after her UFC career and would love an exhibition with Ronda Rousey.

Mackenzie Dern is already thinking about life after the octagon, and it involves a wrestling ring and one very specific dream opponent.
The reigning UFC women's strawweight champion told media she is open to joining WWE after her MMA career wraps up, citing the Bella Twins as inspiration. "Oh yeah, that'd be fun. So much fun," Dern said, per LowKick MMA.
Dern, 33, also floated the idea of an exhibition match with Ronda Rousey, acknowledging the significant weight difference between them. Dern competes at 115 pounds while Rousey historically fought at 135 and above. "It would have been amazing to do like an exhibition match with her," Dern said.
The timing is purely hypothetical. Dern won the vacant UFC strawweight title against Virna Jandiroba in October 2025 and successfully defended it against Gillian Robertson at UFC 330 in August 2026. Her focus remains on stacking title defenses, not planning an exit.
But the WWE pipeline for combat sports athletes is well established. Rousey herself made the jump in 2018 after her initial UFC run, becoming one of WWE's biggest draws. More recently, former Bellator champion Cris Cyborg and Olympic judoka Kayla Harrison have also explored pro wrestling opportunities.
Dern's jiu-jitsu pedigree and charisma could translate well to sports entertainment, and a Rousey exhibition, whether in MMA rules, grappling, or a WWE setting, would generate enormous crossover interest. For now, it is just a fighter dreaming out loud. But the path from the octagon to the squared circle is a well-worn one.
I like Mackenzie Dern dreaming out loud, but let's keep it in the dream category for now. She just won the vacant belt and defended it against Gillian Robertson at UFC 330. That is a champion with work to do, not a champion looking for the exit.
The Ronda exhibition is the part that gets me. Dern fights at 115 and Rousey lived at 135 and above. Even under grappling rules, that is a size gap you feel in the first thirty seconds. It would sell, sure, because Ronda still moves numbers, but I would rather watch Dern spend the next two years building a real title run than chase a novelty match.
WWE later? Fine. She has the personality and the jiu-jitsu pedigree, and the pipeline from the octagon to the ring is real. But the belt is the story. Stack defenses first, then go be a superstar somewhere else.
