Merab Dvalishvili Net Worth 2026: The $500K Purse, Bonuses and the Georgian Gift

Merab Dvalishvili's net worth is an estimated $2M to $4M, built on about $964K in disclosed purses, $250K in bonuses and four undisclosed title paydays.

Merab Dvalishvili's net worth in 2026 is best estimated at $2 million to $4 million. That figure rests on roughly $1 million in commission-disclosed UFC purses, $250,000 in fight-night bonuses, four undisclosed championship paydays from 2024 and 2025, a Monster Energy deal and a 1,000,000 GEL gift from the Georgian government that he said he would give away.

Nobody outside Merab's camp and UFC headquarters knows the real number. Nevada stopped publishing purses in late 2020, New Jersey does not disclose, and Abu Dhabi never has. That means his biggest nights (the Sphere, two title defenses in Las Vegas, the Newark submission of Sean O'Malley) have no public paperwork. What we do have is California and Utah, which still disclose, and they give us hard checkpoints along the way.

Here is what the public record actually shows, what the third-party guesses say, and where a sensible estimate lands heading into his trilogy fight with Petr Yan at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi on October 24, 2026.

From Concrete Work to a UFC Contract

Merab Dvalishvili was born January 10, 1991 in Georgia and moved to New York in 2012 at 21, speaking no English, after going undefeated in nine amateur-level fights back home. He worked construction by day and trained at night, and by his own telling he spent more on training than fighting paid him in those first years. He joined Serra-Longo under Ray Longo and Matt Serra in 2013 and became a naturalized American citizen in March 2024.

His pro debut was a loss at Ring of Combat 47 in January 2014. He went 7-2 on the regional circuit before the fight that changed everything: a 15-second spinning back fist knockout of former Bellator champion Raufeon Stots at Ring of Combat 59 in Atlantic City on June 2, 2017, with Dana White cageside filming Lookin' for a Fight. That got him the contract. It did not get him a big one.

Disclosed Purses: The Paper Trail From $10,000 to $500,000

Merab's UFC debut was a split-decision loss to Frankie Saenz at UFC Fight Night 123 in Fresno on December 9, 2017. The California State Athletic Commission disclosed his purse: $10,000, plus $2,500 in Reebok outfitting pay. He lost again four months later to Ricky Simon in Atlantic City, where New Jersey did not list purses but the Reebok check was $3,500.

The next disclosed figure came on June 13, 2020 at UFC on ESPN 10 in Las Vegas, where Nevada (still publishing at the time) listed him at $46,000 for beating Gustavo Lopez, split $23,000 to show and $23,000 to win. Two years later at UFC 278 in Salt Lake City, the Utah commission reported $198,000 ($99,000 and $99,000) for his decision over Jose Aldo on August 20, 2022. Aldo made $400,000 that night.

At UFC 298 in Anaheim on February 17, 2024, the CSAC listed Merab at $210,000 for beating Henry Cejudo, who took home $150,000. Then came the biggest public number of his career: UFC 311 at the Intuit Dome on January 18, 2025. California disclosed a flat $500,000 for his first title defense against Umar Nurmagomedov, with no separate win bonus. Nurmagomedov was listed at $100,000, and Islam Makhachev made $200,000 as the lightweight champion on the same card, which caused a stir. Merab also collected $42,000 in Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay at UFC 311, the champion tier under the Venum deal.

Add it up and the commission-disclosed purses total $964,000 across five fights. That is the floor, not the ceiling, because the money fights are the ones with no paperwork.

PPV Points and Bonuses: The $250,000 in Checks We Can Count

Merab has earned five UFC post-fight bonuses, all at the $50,000 level: Fight of the Night for the Simon loss in April 2018, Performance of the Night for stopping Marlon Moraes at UFC 266 on September 25, 2021, Fight of the Night against Nurmagomedov at UFC 311, Performance of the Night for the third-round choke of Sean O'Malley at UFC 316 on June 7, 2025, and Fight of the Night in the loss to Petr Yan at UFC 323 on December 6, 2025. That is $250,000 in bonus money.

Pay-per-view points are the big unknown. The UFC has never confirmed whether Merab's deal carries them, and he has never said. The champion paydays at UFC 306 (September 14, 2024, Sphere), UFC 316 (Newark), UFC 320 (October 4, 2025, Las Vegas) and UFC 323 all came in non-disclosing jurisdictions. The only hard numbers from those nights are compliance pay: $42,000 at UFC 316 and $42,000 at UFC 320, with the champion's $50,000 bonus at UFC 316 putting his confirmed minimum for that night at $92,000.

Third-party outlets have floated estimates for those fights, from a Sportskeeda projection of about $300,000 at UFC 306 to an aggregator model claiming $2.6 million for the same night. None of that is verified. The honest framing is this: his flat $500,000 at UFC 311 is the one real benchmark for what a Merab title fight pays, and he had three more of them after it.

Sponsorships, Monster Energy and the Georgian Gift

Monster Energy lists Merab among its elite MMA athletes on its own site, and the can has been on his shorts through the title run. Terms are private, as they always are. Sportskeeda lists a longer roster of smaller backers, including Georgian mineral water brand Nabeglavi, Panini America and a Las Vegas Hyundai dealership, but we could not verify those deals independently.

The most unusual line item in his finances came from his home country. After he won the belt at the Sphere, the Georgian government awarded 1,000,000 GEL (about $367,000 at the time) to Merab, the same gift it gave Ilia Topuria for his title. On September 30, 2024 Merab said he had not expected it and that he would donate all of it to developing MMA in Georgia, including opening wrestling and jiu-jitsu gyms. So it counts as income on paper and as charity in practice.

There is no public reporting on real estate, business ventures or a contract value. In 2026 he also wrestled three times for Real American Freestyle, beating Frankie Edgar and Henry Cejudo before losing to Cejudo by pin in 36 seconds at RAF 12 in August. No purses for those bouts have been reported.

The Title Run, the Yan Loss and the Trilogy

The money got real when Merab beat Sean O'Malley by unanimous decision at UFC 306 on September 14, 2024 to win the bantamweight title. He defended against Nurmagomedov in January 2025, choked O'Malley out in the rematch in June, then set a title-fight record with 20 takedowns against Cory Sandhagen at UFC 320 on October 4, 2025, winning 49-45, 49-45 and 49-46.

The attempt at a fourth defense in a single calendar year ended his 14-fight win streak. Petr Yan took the belt by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47) at UFC 323 on December 6, 2025 in Las Vegas. Merab had beaten Yan 50-45 across the board back in March 2023 with a UFC-record 49 takedown attempts, so the trilogy at UFC 333 on October 24, 2026 at Etihad Arena is the fight that decides whether the 2026 earnings include another title reign. He goes in 21-5.

Where the Net Worth Estimate Lands

Count only what is public and you get about $964,000 in disclosed purses, $250,000 in bonuses, roughly $132,000 in reported outfitting and compliance pay, and the Georgian award he said he gave away. That is already close to $1.4 million in gross fight income before his four richest nights are considered at all.

Use the $500,000 flat fee from UFC 311 as the yardstick for the other three title fights, add a reasonable allowance for the UFC 323 headliner and any pay-per-view share, and career gross fighting income most likely sits somewhere between $3.5 million and $5 million. Take out taxes, management, coaches and a camp that lives in the gym, and $2 million to $4 million is a defensible net worth range.

The third-party sites are lower and older: Sportskeeda and ClutchPoints both pegged him at about $1.5 million in 2024, and Bloody Elbow said about $2 million in May 2025. Those were written before his two most lucrative defenses. Treat every number here, ours included, as an estimate. The only people with the real figure are Merab, his manager and the UFC accounting department.

REY'S TAKERey Aguirre

I have watched Merab fight from a few miles away more times than I can count, and the thing that jumps out about his money is how little of it we actually get to see. A $500,000 flat fee for a title defense is a real number, and it is less than what a lot of fans assume a champion makes. The Sphere card, the Newark choke, the 20-takedown night against Sandhagen: all off the books. My gut says he is north of $3 million and nowhere near the Topuria tax bracket, and that is fine by him. The guy donated a government bonus the size of most fighters' careers. What matters now is Abu Dhabi. If he gets the belt back from Yan, the 2027 version of this page gets a lot more interesting. If he doesn't, he is still the best bargain the UFC has at 135.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK.

How much did Merab Dvalishvili make for fighting Umar Nurmagomedov?

The California State Athletic Commission disclosed a flat $500,000 purse for Merab at UFC 311 on January 18, 2025, with no separate win bonus. He also earned a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus and $42,000 in Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay, so his confirmed take for the night was at least $592,000 before any undisclosed pay-per-view share.

Does Merab Dvalishvili get UFC pay-per-view points?

Nobody has confirmed it. Neither the UFC nor Merab has said publicly whether his contract includes pay-per-view points. His four championship fights in 2024 and 2025 all took place in Nevada or New Jersey, where purses are not disclosed, so there is no paperwork to check. Any figure you see for those nights is a third-party estimate.

What did Merab Dvalishvili do with the money from the Georgian government?

After he won the UFC bantamweight title in September 2024, the Georgian government awarded him 1,000,000 GEL, roughly $367,000 at the time. Merab said he had not expected the gift and pledged to donate all of it to developing MMA in Georgia, including opening wrestling and jiu-jitsu gyms for young athletes.

Is Merab Dvalishvili still the UFC bantamweight champion?

No. He lost the title to Petr Yan by unanimous decision at UFC 323 on December 6, 2025, which ended a 14-fight winning streak and his attempt at a fourth defense in one calendar year. He gets his shot at winning it back in the trilogy fight with Yan at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi on October 24, 2026.

What was Merab Dvalishvili's first UFC purse?

His UFC debut paid $10,000. That was for a split-decision loss to Frankie Saenz at UFC Fight Night 123 in Fresno on December 9, 2017, as disclosed by the California State Athletic Commission, plus $2,500 in Reebok outfitting pay. He had worked construction in New York while training at Serra-Longo to get to that point.
