Nate Diaz met with BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing CEO David Tetreault in Beverly Hills on September 22, sparking speculation that the Stockton icon could be heading into the bare knuckle world.

BKB announced the sit-down on social media with a message that left plenty of room for imagination. "Big conversations. Bigger things ahead. Nate Diaz sat down with BKB leadership in Beverly Hills to talk bare knuckle boxing and what could be next," the promotion posted.

No fight or contract has been announced. The meeting could lead to Diaz competing, partnering as a promoter through his Real Fight Inc. venture, or both. BKB stages its fights in a triangular "Trigon" ring rather than a conventional square, and the promotion has been recruiting established combat sports figures as it ramps up its schedule with events in Newcastle on October 10 and London on November 14.

Diaz has not competed since his majority decision win over Jorge Masvidal in July 2024 at the Honda Center in Anaheim. His professional boxing record sits at 1-1 after dropping a 10-round unanimous decision to Jake Paul in August 2023 before the Masvidal fight.

The 41-year-old has long done things his own way, and bare knuckle fighting would fit the brand. Whether this turns into an actual bout or a business play remains to be seen, but Diaz sitting across from a promotion's CEO is never just a social call.

REY'S TAKERey Aguirre

Of course Nate Diaz is taking meetings with bare knuckle promoters in Beverly Hills. This is completely on brand. The man fought Jake Paul for the check, fought Masvidal for the grudge, and now he is going to sit in a triangle ring and throw hands without gloves because that is what Stockton guys do.

I grew up watching the Diaz brothers scrap in the 209 and nothing about this surprises me. Whether he fights or promotes or does both, BKB just got the best marketing meeting they have ever had. Nate's name on a card, in any capacity, moves tickets and eyeballs. The question is whether he actually wants to take bare knuckle shots at 41 or if he is smarter than that. Knowing Nate, he probably wants both.
