UFC 332 Weigh-Ins: Silva vs Wang Title Fight Official, Ribovics Misses Weight
All fighters make weight for tomorrow's Salt Lake City card except Esteban Ribovics, who came in half a pound heavy.
UFC 332 is official. Natalia Silva (125 lbs) and Cong Wang (124.5 lbs) both made weight for tomorrow night's vacant women's flyweight title fight at Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The belt opened up after Valentina Shevchenko's injury.
The only miss on the card came from Esteban Ribovics, who weighed 156.5 pounds for his lightweight bout against King Green, half a pound over the 156-pound limit. Ribovics faces a fine from his purse. Green weighed 155.5.
The co-main event is set with Deiveson Figueiredo (135) taking on rising bantamweight Payton Talbott (135.5). Roberto Soldic and Kalinn Williams both hit 170 for their welterweight clash. Rafael dos Anjos (155.5) and Alexander Hernandez (155) are good to go at lightweight. Marvin Vettori (185.5) weighed in against Ismail Naurdiev (184.5) at middleweight.
The heavyweight bouts came in heavy as expected. Johnny Walker tipped the scales at 242 against Mick Parkin at 265.5, while Anthony Wint (236) faces Lucas Armand (263).
The main card airs on CBS and Paramount+ starting at 8 p.m. ET, per Sherdog.
I will be at Delta Center tomorrow night and I am genuinely curious how this crowd reacts to the main event. Salt Lake City is not exactly a hotbed for women's flyweight title fights, and the UFC has taken heat for putting Silva vs Wang on top of this card.
But here is the thing. Silva is a finisher. Wang has that unorthodox pressure. If this fight hits the ground or turns into a brawl, the crowd will come alive fast. People forget that some of the best fights on paper look thin on the marquee.
Ribovics missing weight is annoying but predictable. Green is on a roll and Dana White already floated him for the BMF title. A dominant win over a guy who could not even make the scale would help that case.
