Bill Haney is done waiting for Shakur Stevenson to back up his words.

The father and manager of Devin Haney went on 78SPORTSTV to press Stevenson on a 145-pound catchweight fight, saying both sides have publicly agreed on the weight and it is time to make it official, per Boxing News 24.

"I think he came out and he said done deal at 145.0. So stand on it," Bill Haney said. He added that Devin is fully on board with the terms. "145.0 cool with us. No hydration, no none of that. Straight up 145 cool with us."

The lack of a rehydration clause could give Devin a size advantage. Without a cap on how much weight he can regain after the weigh-in, both fighters are free to rehydrate as much as they want, which has historically favored the naturally larger man.

Despite the public agreement on weight, the fight is far from done. A proposed date of November 28 in Atlanta has been floated, but no contract has been signed. Date, money, and other terms remain unresolved.

Bill Haney dismissed the delays as routine posturing and said fans will see who is serious.

"I think that the people now get a chance to see who's really about it and who's just talking," he said.

The Haney-Stevenson rivalry has been simmering for years. Both fighters have traded words publicly, but negotiations have repeatedly stalled before reaching a finish line.

REY'S TAKERey Aguirre

I have been waiting on this fight for what feels like forever, and I am not holding my breath. Both sides say they want it. Both sides agree on the weight. And yet here we are, still talking instead of signing.

The rehydration angle is worth watching. No cap means Devin can balloon back up after making 145, and he is the naturally bigger fighter. Shakur is elite at any weight, but giving up size to a guy with Devin's hand speed is a real tactical problem.

November 28 in Atlanta would be a massive card if it happens. But "if" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence. Bill Haney is smart to put the pressure on publicly. Now we see if Shakur signs or if this becomes another fight that boxing fans wanted but never got.
