Chris Eubank Jr Retracts All Corruption Claims Against British Boxing Board
Chris Eubank Jr has fully retracted his corruption accusations against Robert Smith and the British Boxing Board of Control.

Chris Eubank Jr. has withdrawn every corruption accusation he made against Robert Smith and the British Boxing Board of Control, issuing a full retraction and apology on October 1.
Eubank originally made the claims during a September 17, 2025 press conference following his loss to Conor Benn. He accused Smith and the BBBofC of corruption and bias influenced by Matchroom and Eddie Hearn, alleged they disrupted his fight preparation, and claimed fines were being misused for personal enrichment.
"I accept that these statements are untrue and without any foundation," Eubank said in his retraction statement. "I accept that neither Mr Smith nor the Board are corrupt and I retract my statements in full."
Eubank also apologized "for the harm caused to both Mr Smith and the Board." The retraction comes as part of a confidential settlement, with financial terms undisclosed.
The reversal is total. Eubank is not walking back part of what he said or softening the language. He is accepting that the claims had no basis and formally withdrawing every one of them. For a fighter who built a public persona around confrontation and defiance, this is about as close to unconditional surrender as it gets.
This has settlement written all over it, and the statement reads like it was drafted by a lawyer, not a fighter. "I accept that these statements are untrue and without any foundation" is the kind of language you agree to when the alternative is worse.
Eubank went scorched earth after the Benn loss. He accused the Board of corruption, said they were in Hearn's pocket, claimed fines were being pocketed. Those are serious allegations, and when you make them publicly and cannot back them up, there are consequences.
The confidential settlement tells you everything you need to know about how this played out behind closed doors. Eubank Jr. is a talented fighter who lets his mouth write checks his evidence cannot cash. Whether this humbles him or just makes him angrier remains to be seen, but the public record now shows a complete retraction with an apology attached. That is a rough look for anyone, especially a guy who prides himself on never backing down.
