Sebastian Fundora believes he has more fight in him than Jaron Ennis and says he knows he can beat the 154-pound standout in a future unification bout. Fundora made the claim in a recent interview, laying out his plan to overwhelm Ennis with relentless pressure and nonstop punching.

"I know I could beat him," Fundora told interviewer Sean Zittel. When Zittel pointed out that Ennis has shown grit in previous fights, Fundora was unimpressed. "Well, you showed it for like a round," he fired back. "I have been showing it my whole career."

Fundora, known for his towering frame and awkward style at junior middleweight, plans to combine constant forward pressure with high punch volume to neutralize what makes Ennis dangerous. He believes his ability to fight through adversity over full fights gives him an edge in toughness.

Before any unification talk becomes real, Fundora has business to handle first. He faces Ermal Hadribeaj on October 17 and wants the Ennis fight immediately after. Ennis sits near the top of his target list, per Boxing News 24.

The 154-pound division is shaping up for a major stretch. Josh Kelly and Ennis have reportedly agreed to terms for a unification fight, while Fundora is looking to insert himself into that picture with a statement performance against Hadribeaj. Trading in close with Ennis carries obvious risk, as Ennis is one of the sharper counterpunchers in the sport, but Fundora has never been one to fight safe.

REY'S TAKERey Aguirre

Fundora is not wrong about having more dog. That is legitimately his best attribute. The guy walks through fire every time he fights and his chin has held up in spots where most fighters would fold. But saying Ennis only showed grit "for like a round" is underselling Boots, and I think Fundora knows it.

The real question is whether Fundora can land enough volume before Ennis times him. Fundora is tall and awkward, but he fights upright and walks forward, which is basically a buffet for a counterpuncher like Ennis. I would love to see this fight happen. Fundora makes everything exciting and Ennis needs someone willing to push the pace. Handle Hadribeaj first, then we can talk.
