Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is officially the hottest ticket in combat sports. Roughly 80,000 tickets for their December clash at Cardiff's Principality Stadium sold out in about one hour on Friday, per BBC Sport.

More than 500,000 people flooded the online queue within minutes of tickets going live. Original prices ranged from around 88 pounds to more than 13,000 pounds for premium ringside seats. Resale listings appeared almost immediately, with upper-tier seats advertised at 425 pounds and VIP ringside packages listed as high as 73,000 pounds.

The fight will be broadcast globally on Netflix. Ringwalks are expected around 1 a.m. local time on December 12, with the stadium scheduled to stay open until 3:30 a.m. No undercard bouts have been officially confirmed yet.

Fury, 38, and Joshua, 36, have circled each other for years without ever sharing a ring. The demand speaks for itself. Even at this stage of both careers, the British heavyweight rivalry remains one of the biggest draws the sport can produce.

The sellout pace puts Fury vs Joshua in rare company. It confirms what most of the boxing world already suspected: regardless of what the purists say about timing, this fight prints money.

REY'S TAKERey Aguirre

Eighty thousand seats in sixty minutes. Half a million people in the queue. Say what you want about these two being past their primes, the public does not care. This is the fight the UK has wanted for half a decade, and the fact that it took this long only made the demand worse.

I've been saying Fury vs Joshua would break every gate record in British boxing, and the sellout speed proves it. Netflix getting the global broadcast is massive, too. This is the kind of event that brings in millions of casual viewers who haven't watched boxing since Canelo-GGG.

The resale market is already insane. If you're thinking about flying to Cardiff, book your hotel now. The fight itself might not be a technical masterpiece, but the atmosphere inside that stadium is going to be electric. Sometimes the spectacle is the sport.
