Eddie Hearn Headed to LA to Negotiate Dana White Role in Fury vs Joshua

Hearn expects to sit down with White in Los Angeles next week to hash out terms for the UFC boss's involvement in the superfight.

Eddie Hearn says he expects to meet Dana White in Los Angeles next week to discuss what role the UFC CEO will play in the Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight. The meeting is proposed but not yet confirmed, per Boxing News 24.

The involvement of White has been a sticking point. Saudi adviser Turki Alalshikh and Netflix both want White involved, reportedly in a television production capacity. But Hearn is using Matchroom's contractual position to make sure the deal works for his side before agreeing to anything.

"What's in it for Anthony? What's in it for us?" Hearn said. "And once we establish that, we can make a decision. They cannot be involved in the fight unless myself and Anthony allow them to be."

Hearn has not disclosed what he is asking for in return, whether that means financial terms, promotional support, or other concessions. But the message is clear: Matchroom holds a veto, and Hearn intends to use it as leverage.

The Fury vs Joshua fight has been one of the most talked about bouts in boxing for years. Adding White to the mix introduces a whole new layer of promotion and production, but also a whole new set of egos at the negotiating table. The LA meeting could determine whether this becomes a smooth collaboration or a drawn out power struggle.

REY'S TAKERey Aguirre

Eddie Hearn holding all the cards and making sure everyone at the table knows it. Classic Hearn. And honestly, he is right to do it.

Dana White is the best promoter in combat sports. Nobody is going to argue that. But this is a boxing fight, and Hearn has the contractual leverage. If White wants in, Hearn should absolutely be asking what Joshua and Matchroom get out of the arrangement. That is just business.

The interesting part is what happens if they cannot agree. Do Alalshikh and Netflix push harder? Does the fight get delayed over production credits? That would be the most boxing thing to ever happen.

I think the meeting goes well. White and Hearn are both smart enough to know this fight prints money for everyone involved. But watching two of the biggest egos in combat sports negotiate face to face in LA? That is a pay-per-view in itself.
