Ryan Garcia Volunteers to Fight Pacquiao on Netflix If Fury vs Joshua Falls Apart
The WBC welterweight champion says he and Manny Pacquiao could save the December 11 Netflix date if Fury and Joshua cannot get the deal done.

Ryan Garcia has a backup plan for Netflix, and it involves a 48-year-old legend.
The WBC welterweight champion floated the idea of fighting Manny Pacquiao on the December 11 Netflix date during a livestream, positioning the matchup as a safety net in case Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua collapses.
"Put me and Manny Pacquiao on Netflix. We'll save the day," Garcia said. He added that the matchup would preserve the date "guaranteed."
Fury and Joshua are still expected to proceed with their heavyweight showdown, which was scheduled for Cardiff. A face-off press conference is set for London on Wednesday. But the fight has been plagued by contract disputes and skepticism from promoters, with Dana White recently admitting he has no idea whether it will happen.
Garcia, who is coming off a second-round stoppage of Conor Benn on September 12, has been angling for a December return. He previously called out Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz and Teofimo Lopez for that window, per Boxing News 24.
Pacquiao, who turns 48 in December, has fought only once since returning from a lengthy absence from the sport. While the Filipino icon no longer competes at an elite level, his name recognition extends well beyond the boxing audience, which is exactly the kind of draw Netflix wants for its combat sports programming.
Neither Netflix nor Pacquiao's camp has responded to Garcia's offer. For now, it reads as a public audition rather than a done deal. But if the Fury-Joshua contract saga drags on much longer, Garcia's phone might actually ring.
Look, I would watch Garcia vs Pacquiao on Netflix and so would you. Is it a competitive fight in 2026? Probably not. Pacquiao is 48 and has one foot in retirement. But Garcia just cracked Conor Benn in two rounds and is riding serious momentum, and Pacquiao's name still moves the needle like few fighters alive.
The real story here is how shaky Fury vs Joshua must be behind the scenes for Garcia to publicly volunteer as a replacement act. That fight has been one press conference away from falling apart for weeks. If Garcia sees an opening, that tells you something.
I think Garcia fights in December one way or another. He is too active and too hungry to sit out. But if Netflix comes calling with Pacquiao on the other line, you take that call every single time. The payday alone would be massive, and Garcia gets to say he shared the ring with a legend. Smart play.
