Ellie Scotney will not be making her featherweight debut on November 8. Most Valuable Promotions confirmed that the British star has been forced to withdraw from her scheduled WBC featherweight title challenge against Tiara Brown on the MVPW-07 card in Arlington, Texas.

The injury is undisclosed. No timeline for recovery has been given, and Scotney's camp has not commented publicly on the nature of the problem.

MVP co-founders Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul released a statement saying they were "disappointed" Scotney could not compete and wished her a speedy recovery. The promotion said the bout will be rescheduled, though no new date was announced.

Ramla Ali vs. Mikiah Kreps has been added to the card in the wake of the withdrawal.

Scotney became undisputed super bantamweight champion in April 2026, and the Brown fight was set to be her first outing at 126 pounds. Moving up to challenge for a world title in a new division on a Jake Paul-promoted card in the United States represented a significant step up in profile for the 27-year-old Londoner.

Brown, who holds the WBC featherweight belt, will now wait for a rescheduled date. The MVPW-07 card still features Skye Nicolson defending her WBC super bantamweight title.

For Scotney, the setback is frustrating but not unfamiliar. Her undisputed fight at 122 pounds was also postponed due to injury before eventually going ahead. She will hope the pattern repeats.

REY'S TAKERey Aguirre

Bad timing for Scotney. She had everything lined up: a new weight class, a world title shot, a massive platform on a Paul-promoted card in Texas, and the kind of crossover moment that British women's boxing rarely gets. Now she's back to waiting.

The good news is MVP said they'll reschedule. Scotney is too talented and too marketable for them to let this matchup die. She cleaned out 122 pounds and the jump to featherweight was always the next logical step.

I just hope the injury is minor. Scotney's undisputed fight got delayed once before and she came through it fine. If this follows the same script, we could see her back by early 2027. Brown is a solid champion and the fight still makes all the sense in the world whenever it happens.
