Joaquin Buckley has taken some wild rides in the octagon, but watching himself get flatlined by Mike Malott might be the wildest one yet.

Buckley went on a live stream after his brutal knockout loss at UFC Edmonton on Saturday and got his first look at the finish. His reaction to seeing the still photo of himself laid out on the canvas was immediate disbelief. "That gotta be bulls--t," Buckley said, per MMA Mania. He stared at the image and insisted it could not be real.

When he finally watched the video of Malott's devastating knee landing clean, the shock deepened. "He caught me just like that, huh?" Buckley said. "Golly. I ain't ever been out like that, bro."

Buckley has been knocked out before and has never tried to hide it, but this one hit different. "I've been knocked out before. I used to always say though, but I ain't never been slept though," he said. "That motherf--ker slept my ass."

Despite the loss, Buckley appeared to be taking it in stride. When a viewer told him to stop streaming and go to sleep, he laughed and fired back, "I already went to sleep!" The welterweight contender said he has no regrets about the performance, telling fans people were entertained.

Malott's knee was one of the most spectacular finishes in recent UFC memory, and the highlight has already gone viral. Buckley now faces a crucial stretch in the welterweight division as he looks to bounce back from the devastating stoppage loss.

REY'S TAKERey Aguirre

This is the kind of moment that separates the real ones from the front-runners. A lot of fighters would disappear after getting slept like that. Go dark on social media, put out some carefully worded statement written by a manager. Buckley jumps on a live stream, watches himself get flatlined, and cracks jokes about going to sleep.

That is a man who is completely comfortable with who he is. The knockout was brutal, no sugarcoating it. Malott timed that knee perfectly and Buckley was out before he hit the canvas. But the way Buckley handled the aftermath tells you everything about his character. He will be back, he will be dangerous, and he will probably get another highlight reel of his own along the way.
