UFC Edmonton was not short on violence. Four fighters earned $100,000 Performance of the Night bonuses on a card loaded with finishes at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta on Saturday night.

The bonus winners were Mike Malott, Mandel Nallo, Marc-Andre Barriault, and Joel Faglier, per Sherdog. All four won by stoppage, and the Canadian-heavy card gave the hometown crowd plenty to celebrate.

Cristian Perez turned in one of the most explosive UFC debuts in recent memory, obliterating lightweight veteran Kyle Nelson in just 27 seconds with a knee and follow-up punches, per MMA Mania. The 27-year-old Mexican prospect, who earned his contract on the Contender Series, announced himself to the 155-pound division in emphatic fashion. Nelson (17-8-1) tried to grab the referee after being stopped, apparently unsure the fight was over.

Marc-Andre Barriault (18-11) sent the Canadian crowd into a frenzy with a first-round TKO of Kyle Daukaus (17-6) at 4:28, finishing with punches and elbows on the ground. Barriault showed he still has gas left in the tank at middleweight.

Joel Faglier (7-0) kept his perfect record intact with a second-round TKO of Javad Mahjoub (5-1) at 2:11. Faglier rallied after Mahjoub hurt him in the first round, then poured it on as his opponent faded.

Other notable results included Tanner Boser's third-round TKO of Jhonata Diniz, Timothy Cuamba's second-round submission of Louis Jourdain, and Katlyn Cerminara's first-round TKO of Mackenzie Stiller via head kick.

Canada showed up and showed out. Four bonus winners, almost all of them Canadian, on a card in Edmonton. The UFC knows what it is doing when it brings the show north of the border.

The Perez debut is the one I want to talk about. Twenty-seven seconds. A knee, punches, and the veteran on the canvas trying to wrestle the referee. That is not a normal debut. That is a fighter who came in with bad intentions and the skills to back them up. Keep that name on your radar at lightweight.

Barriault getting a bonus at home after the run he has been on is a feel-good moment too. The man has been counted out more times than I can remember, and he keeps finding ways to finish people.
