Dana White Says He Blocked Every MMA Media Outlet Because They Are All Wrong
The UFC CEO says MMA media coverage is inaccurate and not worth his time.

Dana White does not care what MMA media thinks, and he has taken steps to make sure he never has to hear it. The UFC CEO recently revealed in a conversation with Steven Bartlett that he has blocked every media outlet that covers the UFC on social media.
White's reasoning was blunt. He believes the vast majority of MMA media coverage is flat-out wrong.
"Everything they f---ing say is wrong," White said. "It's a waste of my time to even listen to it."
The UFC boss went further, taking aim at the explosion of podcasts, websites, and social media accounts that have popped up around the sport. He does not view the people behind them as experts and does not want their speculation cluttering his feed.
White was clear that he does not consider MMA media outlets to be "haters." His issue is accuracy. He said insiders cannot possibly know what he is thinking or what the UFC is planning, and he would rather not waste energy reading their guesses. Instead, White filters MMA content from his social media algorithm entirely and relies on his assistant to brief him on anything he actually needs to know.
The comments drew pushback from fans and media members alike. Critics pointed out that MMA media plays a significant role in growing the sport and keeping fans engaged between events. Others noted that White himself has made factual errors about fighter records on multiple occasions, making the accuracy argument cut both ways.
White's relationship with MMA media has been contentious for years. He has publicly feuded with reporters and outlets throughout his tenure as UFC president, but the blanket blocking of every outlet marks a new level of disconnect between the promotion's leadership and the press that covers it.
I have been covering combat sports long enough to know that Dana White does not owe any reporter a follow. That is his right. But blocking every single outlet that covers your sport? That is a choice.
The UFC is the biggest MMA promotion on the planet. Media coverage, good and bad, keeps the conversation going between fight weeks. It fills the gaps. It builds the storylines that make people tune in on Saturday night. Writing all of that off because some accounts get things wrong is throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
And look, some MMA media is terrible. I will give him that. But "everything they say is wrong" is a stretch from a guy who has gotten fighter records wrong on camera more than once. Nobody bats a thousand in this business, including the boss.
