Dana White Shuts Down Ilia Topuria's Loaded Gloves Claim Against Justin Gaethje
Dana White dismissed Ilia Topuria's allegation that Justin Gaethje loaded his gloves at UFC Freedom 250, calling social media full of it.

Dana White has no time for Ilia Topuria's latest grievance. The UFC president dismissed the former featherweight champion's allegation that Justin Gaethje tampered with his gloves during their UFC Freedom 250 title fight in June, waving it off as social media noise.
Topuria alleged that Gaethje loaded his gloves ahead of the lightweight title bout, which ended via fourth-round corner stoppage after both of Topuria's orbital bones were broken. It was a brutal finish to what had been a competitive fight, and Topuria has struggled to accept the result quietly.
White's response was characteristically blunt. "I missed that," he told reporters, per MMA Sucka. "I try to stay away from the fight stuff. Social media is full of shit."
The UFC president emphasized that gloves undergo strict regulation and inspection by athletic commission officials before every bout, making the kind of tampering Topuria described virtually impossible. Rather than engage with the allegation, White said his focus was on matchmaking for Topuria's return to the octagon.
The dismissal tracks with the broader response from inside the sport. Gaethje himself has brushed off the accusations, and regulators involved with the UFC Freedom 250 card have not indicated any concerns about glove integrity.
For Topuria, the loaded-gloves claim is the latest chapter in a difficult stretch. He went from being one of the most dominant champions in UFC history to losing his belt in devastating fashion, and the post-fight narrative has been shaped more by excuses than by a clear path back to the title. White shutting the door on the controversy suggests the UFC has no interest in relitigating the result.
Dana saying he missed the whole thing is the perfect response, because that is exactly how seriously the loaded gloves claim deserves to be taken. Gloves get inspected by the commission before every fight. Gaethje broke both of Topuria's orbitals with hands that were checked by regulators. That is not tampering. That is Justin Gaethje.
What bothers me is what this says about where Topuria's head is. He went from one of the most dominant champions we have seen to losing his belt on a corner stoppage, and instead of getting back in the gym he is looking for reasons it was not his fault. That is a losing mindset, and the sport notices.
Dana said the focus is matchmaking for Topuria's return, and that is the right call. Give him a real fight, let him answer with his hands, and put this nonsense to bed. The longer he keeps talking gloves, the more people forget how good he was.
