Bo Nickal and Joe Pyfer Moved to Five Round Main Event in Cleveland
The middleweight grudge match gets bumped from UFC 335 to a Cleveland headliner, with Pyfer firing back at Nickal's "fake dreams" claim.

Bo Nickal announced that his fight against Joe Pyfer has been moved from the UFC 335 main card in December to a five-round main event in Cleveland in February, per Heavy and Essentially Sports.
Nickal broke the news at a political rally alongside Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. "It actually got moved to February, where I'm going to be main eventing in Cleveland," Nickal said. "We're going to go smash this dude and then go take the belt."
Pyfer responded on Instagram, calling Nickal's title aspirations "fake dreams" and framing the matchup as a "poor kid vs. rich kid" fight. The exchange is the latest chapter in a rivalry that has been building since 2025, when Pyfer said Nickal was the only fighter who deserved the "fraud checked" label following his TKO loss to Reinier de Ridder.
Nickal (6-1) has won his last two fights by knockout, stopping Rodolfo Vieira and Kyle Daukaus. He is ranked No. 12 in the Meta UFC middleweight rankings. Pyfer (7-1 UFC) is ranked No. 5 and is coming off a win over Israel Adesanya at UFC Seattle in March.
The UFC has not officially announced the Cleveland card, but the promotion to a main event signals the organization's confidence in the rivalry's drawing power.
Moving this from a three-rounder on the UFC 335 card to a five-round headliner in Cleveland is the right call. This fight needs the room to breathe.
Nickal is the more talented pure athlete, but the de Ridder loss showed he can be put in bad spots when someone matches his physicality. Pyfer is not going to be intimidated. He beat Adesanya, he talks a ton of trash, and he genuinely believes Nickal is a fraud. That is a dangerous combination.
I think Nickal wins this fight. His wrestling pedigree is too deep, and the five-round format actually helps him because Pyfer has to sustain output for 25 minutes. But if Pyfer catches him early, the "fake dreams" line is going to age really well. Cleveland in February is going to be loud.
