Tony Ferguson continued his post-UFC run with a second-round TKO of Mahmoud Sebie on Saturday night in Miami, successfully defending his Misfits Boxing Middleweight Championship. The referee stopped the fight at the 0:42 mark of the second round after Ferguson unloaded an unanswered combination.

It was not all smooth sailing for El Cucuy. Sebie dropped Ferguson with a left hook in the opening round, briefly putting the former UFC interim lightweight title challenger on the canvas. Ferguson recovered and flipped the script, catching Sebie standing still with three consecutive punches that put him down.

In the second round, Sebie retreated to the corner after trading power shots early. Ferguson pounced with a long combination of strikes and the referee had seen enough, per MMA Weekly.

The win is Ferguson's third straight victory under the Misfits Boxing banner. He first won the Middleweight title by stopping Salt Papi via third-round TKO in August 2025 and has not looked back since. Ferguson is now 6-0 across boxing and bare-knuckle competition since leaving the UFC, where he went on an eight-fight losing skid to close out his Octagon career.

Ferguson appeared on the same card as fellow former UFC champion Henry Cejudo, who made his boxing debut in the main event against Javon Walton.

REY'S TAKERey Aguirre

Tony Ferguson is a completely different fighter when the pressure of the UFC is off his back. Eight straight losses in the Octagon had people writing the obituary, and here he is running through the Misfits division like he owns it. Because he does.

The knockdown in round one would have been a disaster two years ago. The old Ferguson would have panicked, tried to wrestle, done something desperate. This version just got up and went back to work. That tells you everything about where his head is right now.

Is this elite-level boxing? No. But Ferguson is 42, he is entertaining, he is winning, and he is getting paid to do it in Miami instead of getting his brain scrambled by top-five UFC lightweights. That is called a smart career move.
