Darren Till Decisions Yoel Romero in Lopsided BKFC 94 Scorecards That Don't Match the Fight
Darren Till won a unanimous decision over Yoel Romero at BKFC 94, but the 49-46 scorecards raised eyebrows in Manchester.

Darren Till walked out of the AO Arena in Manchester with a unanimous decision win over Yoel Romero in the main event of BKFC 94 on Saturday night, streamed live on DAZN. The scorecards read 49-46, 49-46, 49-46, giving Till the win across five two-minute rounds of bare-knuckle action.
The numbers look clean. The fight did not.
Romero took the first round as Till stayed passive, then the two traded frames in a competitive middle stretch. Romero appeared to land the harder shots in the third, briefly hurting Till near the end of the round. In the fourth, Till suffered a nasty cut under his right eye as Romero continued pressing.
Till rallied in the fifth, but the official scores gave him four of five rounds, a spread that did not sit well with fans who watched Romero land the cleaner, more damaging work in three of them. DraftKings Network's unofficial card had the fight 48-47 for Romero heading into the final round.
The win moves Till to 2-0 in bare-knuckle and 6-0 across boxing and BKFC since leaving the UFC. Romero drops to 1-1 under the BKFC banner. Till called out BKFC Ironweight and Light Heavyweight Champion Lorenzo Hunt immediately after the decision.
I have no idea how three judges saw this 49-46. You can give Till rounds two and five, sure. But four out of five? Romero was landing the heavier leather, opened that cut, and appeared to hurt Till in the third. That is a 48-47 fight at best, and there is a real argument Romero won it outright.
Bare-knuckle judging has always been inconsistent, and this is exactly the kind of result that makes people question the product. Till is a smart operator and a legitimate draw in this space, but a close fight scored wide does nobody any favors.
Credit to Till for surviving a rough fourth round and finishing strong. But if he wants Lorenzo Hunt next, he needs to look a lot better than he did tonight. Romero at 49 years old just gave him five rounds of serious problems.
